This grant aims to supporting trainee rheumatologists to attend conferences.

In recognition of Professor Feng Pao Hsii’s contributions and in honour of his memory, the Singapore Society of Rheumatology (SSR) inaugurated an educational grant in his name in August 2018, with the aim of supporting local trainee rheumatologists to attend conferences. This grant hopes to contribute to the personal and professional development of our local trainee rheumatologists.

This grant aims to supporting trainee rheumatologists to attend conferences.

This award will only be disbursed if the candidate is unsuccessful in obtaining funding through the other sources. There will be no double funding for a single conference attendance.

Criteria of Eligibility

  • Must be SSR members who have actively participated in SSR activities.
  • Open to Rheumatology trainees who submit an abstract, or are invited to make an oral presentation at a reputable regional or international conference.
  • Must be in active service (e.g. not on no-pay leave) during the period of the conference.
  • Only applicants presenting a paper/ poster will be eligible. If the poster has already been presented at a conference, it cannot be re-used to apply for the FPH Educational Grant.
  • Must obtain approval by his/her respective Program Director and Head of Department.

Award

The SSR Executive Committee will assess every application and all decisions are final.

The following documents need to be enclosed with the application.

  • 1. A supporting letter from the applicant's respective Program Director (PD)
  • 2. An up to date CV (limited to 3 pages)
  • 3. Summary of abstract (should not more than one page in length, typed single-spaced)
  • 4. All other forms of sponsorship by external parties or other sources MUST be declared on the application form.
